How to directly access sharepoint document lists in windows explorer in windows xp using network places

All you have to do is to create a network place for each sharepoint site you want to access:

1. If you are using the XP display mode select Start > Control Panel > Network and Internet Connections > Network Connections (double click Network Connections in Control Panel)

2. Click My Network Places in Other Places section

3. Click Add a network place in Network Tasks section

4. Follow the Add network place wizard
Enter address to site (e.g. for Team Foundation Server Projects (\\\sites\)

After finishing the wizard You now have a link to your sharepoint site in your network places:

You can use this network place e.g. directly from within outlook to save your attachments to a document library:

You can avoid all 70-291 the round about methods above, by using Server.Transfer("whateverPage.aspx"); in your OnClick event. You might (rare) have 70-431 to look out for any objects you don't want transfered in your viewState and make alterations before the transfer, perhaps by storing and retrieving values from the 70-536 Context.Items collection (or similar method) -
